  1. Good work Group 16! All Memos are in. I really, really, really hope that they all included "IM2" in the subject line. If not, talk to me cus we might have a problem.

  2. I wanted to share with you all what would have been my introductory paragraph for my Personal Memo. I watched the movie "Coco before Chanel" and would recommend it to others (mainly the ladies).

    (beginning.)

Coco avant Chanel: Fashion Leader and Extraordinaire

“How many cares one loses when one decides not to be something but to be someone.”
    --Coco Chanel

Gabrielle Chanel was born in Saumur, France in 1883. Orphaned at the age of 6 by the death of her mother and abandonment of her father, Gabrielle and her 4 siblings were reared in poor circumstances by local relatives. In hopes of finding their way to Paris, Gabrielle and one of her sisters made ends meat as cafĂ© and concert singers throughout their early twenties. While performing, Gabrielle picked up the stage name “Coco”, a name that would later represent one of the most iconic fashion empires to date. Although her journey to the top was not as elegant as many might assume, Coco Chanel utilized every power within her to lead women’s fashion from the early 1900’s to today’s most prestigious, global runways. Beauty, sex, creativity, persistence, drive, and resilience carried her to the footsteps of her first Parisian millinery shop in 1910 and in turn her title as one of the historical female leaders of haute couture.

    (end.)

Her story is truly inspirational, not to mention Chanel is simply fabulous. When I was younger I would tell people that my success would be measurable by the number of Chanel suits in my closet. :)
